A hall for the trucks and a glass house for the people who run them.

The Brenner Distribution Centre serves freight crossing the Alps between Germany and Italy, with 24,000 square metres of hall and a two-storey office block at the entrance.

The hall is built from insulated precast panels lifted into place from the yard, so the envelope was closed in under ten weeks, before the first snow.

The office block sits under a cantilevered timber soffit facing the mountains, and the yard drains to a soakaway that keeps the forecourt free of ice.
