Arches that grow out of the piers, so the bridge reads as one line across the gorge.

The Verdon Viaduct carries a regional road 560 metres across a river gorge, replacing a narrow stone bridge that could no longer take heavy traffic.

Each pier flares into the deck in a single curve, cast in white concrete made with local limestone aggregate so the bridge matches the cliffs around it.

A line of light set into the underside of every arch makes the viaduct visible from the valley at night without lighting the sky.
